VarTec posts $6.63 million operating income for April

Pittsburgh, May 24 - VarTec Telecom Inc. reported operating income of $6.63 million in April on sales of $44.51 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Operating income for March was $7.04 million on sales of $45.91 million.
The net loss for April was $369,000, down from March's $5.31 million.
Cash at April 30 was $17.02 million, compared to $22.77 million at the end of March.
VarTec, a Dallas-based telecommunications provider, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 1, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-81694.
