VarTec Telecom gets official unsecured creditors' committee

Washington, Nov. 9 - The Office of the U.S. Trustee appointed 11 people to VarTec Telecom Inc.'s official committee of unsecured creditors.

The paperwork was filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas Tuesday.

The members of the new committee are: Brian Benjet, director, corporate and financial litigation for MCI Inc.; Brad Worthington, executive vice president of NTS Communications Inc.; Dave Egan, senior manager of credit and collections, SBC Industry Markets; Kathy Morgan, Teleglobe Telecom Corp.; Andrew Sherman for Qwest Corp.; Andrew Stein, senior attorney, AT&T Corp.; Reginald Greene, operations and bankruptcy counsel for BellSouth Corp.; Cynthia Ayres of Valor Telecommunications Enterprises LLC; Lowell Feldman of Unipoint Holdings; Chad Jenkins of Visionquest Marketing Services Inc.; and Jay Lankford, Specialty Outsourcing Solution Ltd.

VarTec, a Dallas-based telecommunications provider, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 1. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-81694.
