S&P: Banco de Credito e Inversiones notes A

S&P said it assigned an A issue-level rating to Banco de Credito e Inversiones' (A/negative/A-1) $500 million senior unsecured medium-term notes due 2027.

“The rating on the notes reflects their pari passu ranking with the bank's other senior unsecured debt obligations, and as a result, it's the same as the long-term issuer credit rating on the bank," S&P credit analyst Sofia Ballester said in a news release.

The notes only represent about 1.2% of the bank’s total funding base and therefore, the agency doesn’t expect the issuance to change the view of the bank's funding profile.
