Van Kampen's Series 1176 offers units of its seven portfolios

San Diego, Jan. 3 - Van Kampen Unit Trusts, Series 1176 is offering units of its seven portfolios, according to an S-6 amendment filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The depositor is Houston-based Van Kampen Funds Inc.

The unit investment trust will consist of the EAFE Select 20 Portfolio 2012-1, the Dow Jones Select Dividend Index Strategy Portfolio 2012-1, the Select 5 Industrial Portfolio 2012-1, the Select S&P Industrial Portfolio 2012-1, the Select S&P Core Portfolio 2012-1, the Global 45 Dividend Strategy Portfolio 2012-1 and the Select 10 Industrial Portfolio 2012-1.

The trust's initial date of deposit is Jan. 3, and its mandatory termination date is April 1, 2013.

All of the portfolios seek above-average total return.

The EAFE Select 20 Portfolio will invest in a portfolio of stocks included in the Morgan Stanley Capital International Europe, Australasia and Far East Index, or the MSCI EAFE index. At inception, $149,497 of contracts to purchase securities represents the portfolio. The 15,101 units each have a public offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.688. The estimated net annual income is $0.41644 per unit.

The Dow Jones Select Dividend Index Strategy Portfolio will invest in a portfolio of stocks selected from the Dow Jones Select Dividend Index. At inception, $147,687 in contracts to purchase securities represents the portfolio. The 14,918 units each have a public offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.655. The estimated net annual income is $0.29316 per unit.

The Select 5 Industrial Portfolio will select the 10 highest dividend-yielding stocks in the Dow Jones industrial average and invest in the five with the lowest share price. At inception, $147,846 of contracts to purchase securities represents the portfolio. The 14,934 units each have a public offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.655. The estimated net annual income is $0.3895 per unit.

The Select S&P Industrial Portfolio will invest in selected stocks included in the Standard & Poor's Industrial Index. At inception, $148,129 of contracts to purchase securities represents the portfolio. The 14,963 units each have a public offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.659. The estimated net annual income is $0.30112 per unit.

The Select S&P Core Portfolio will invest in stocks included in the S&P 500 Index. At inception, $147,983 of contracts to purchase securities represents the portfolio. The 14,948 units each have a public offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.655. The estimated net annual income is $0.16771 per unit.

The Global 45 Dividend Strategy Portfolio will invest in stocks of foreign and domestic companies selected using a combination of three investment strategies: the Select S&P Industrial strategy the Select 10 Industrial strategy and the EAFE Select 20 strategy. At inception, $148,629 of contracts to purchase securities represents the portfolio. The 15,014 units each have a public offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.689. The estimated net annual income is $0.35702 per unit.

The Select 10 Industrial Portfolio invests in the ten highest dividend-yielding stocks in the Dow Jones industrial average. At inception, $148,052 of contracts to purchase securities represents the portfolio. The 14,955 units each have a public offering price of $10 and a net asset value of $9.689. The estimated net annual income is $0.36891 per unit.

All of the units will have a maximum sales charge of 2.95%, consisting of a 1% initial sales charge, a 1.45% deferred sales charge and a 0.5% creation and development fee. The fee may be reduced on a sliding scale to 1.2% depending on the amount of the investment.
