Van Kampen Unit Trusts series 1170's units invest in ETFs

San Diego, Oct. 25 - Van Kampen Unit Trusts, series 1170 plans to offer units of its series 9 ETF Allocation Portfolio, according to an S-6 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The depositor is Houston-based Van Kampen Funds Inc.

The trust seeks above average capital appreciation by investing in a portfolio that consists of exchange-traded notes as well as exchange-traded funds that invest in stocks and fixed-income securities.

The units will be offered at $10.00 apiece. The initial date of deposit will be in December.

Each unit will have a maximum sales charge of 2.95%, consisting of a 1% initial sales charge, a 1.45% deferred sales charge and a 0.5 creation and development fee.
