Barclays plans PLUS due 2014 linked to Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets

Chicago, Aug. 5 - Barclays Bank plc priced $8.74 million of 0% Performance Leveraged Upside Securities due Oct. 6, 2014 linked to the Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par of $10 plus 300% of any fund gain, up to a maximum return of 18% to 122%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.
Investors will be fully exposed to any losses.
Barclays is the agent with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC handling distribution.
The notes will price on Aug. 30 and settle on Sept. 5.
The Cusip number is 06742D424.
