Fitch gives AA to Vanderbilt University, Tenn., bonds

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an AA long-term rating to $178 million of series 2008A bonds, $137 million of series 2008B and $39 million of series 2008C bonds issued by the Health & Educational Facilities Board of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson, Tenn., on behalf of Vanderbilt University.

In addition, Fitch said it assigned a short-term rating of F1+ to about $61.2 million of outstanding series 2005B-1 revenue bonds, which have a long-term rating of AA.

Fitch also said it affirmed the university's outstanding long- and short-term ratings of AA and F1+, respectively.

The series 2008 bonds are expected to price on March 26 by negotiation.
