U.S. Trustee names five-member Valence Technology creditors committee

Pittsburgh, Aug. 8 - Valence Technology, Inc.'s official committee of unsecured creditors has been appointed by Region 7 U.S. Trustee Judy A. Robbins, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas.

The committee members are Shandy Leung of Amperex Technology Ltd. of Hong Kong; Michael L. Walker of Insight Direct, USA of Tempe, Ariz.; Huy Thai of NPI Technologies.com, based in Richardson, Texas; Kevin Wang of Tianjin Lishen Battery Joint Stock Co., Ltd. of Tianjin, China; and Carl E. Warden of Los Altos, Calif.

Austin, Texas-based Valence Technology, a developer of lithium-ion batteries, filed for bankruptcy on July 12. The Chapter 11 case number is 12-11580.
