Fitch puts three Guatemalan banks on watch

Fitch Ratings said it placed the ratings for Guatemalan banks Banco de los Trabajadores, Banco Agromercantil de Guatemala, SA and Banco Industrial, SA on rating watch negative.

The watch follows the rating action on Guatemala's foreign-currency and issuer default ratings and downgrade of the issue rating on the eurobond due 2026 to C from BB-, Fitch said.

Fitch said the banks’ ratings would be sensitive to a downgrade of the sovereign rating.

The agency said it would resolve the rating watch once the RWN on Guatemala is resolved.
