S&P: United States Steel on positive watch

Standard & Poor's said it placed its ratings, including its BB corporate credit rating, on United States Steel on CreditWatch with positive implications.

The agency said that the action reflects U.S. Steel's improved business and financial profile and healthy industry conditions.

Through healthy steel prices, U.S. Steel has been able to improve its capital structure, resulting in improved credit metrics, while concurrently diversifying its operations and mix, S&P noted.
