By Devika Patel

New York, Aug. 6 - UBS AG announced it has hired William Wilson as a managing director in the leveraged capital markets group, focusing on U.S. high yield origination.

Wilson is based in Stamford and reports to leveraged capital markets group head Brendan Connolly.

Prior to joining UBS, Wilson worked at Bear Stearns, where he was a senior managing director in the high yield group and led its efforts in European and international leveraged finance. He also worked as a managing director in both the investment banking and high yield capital markets groups at Credit Suisse in New York and London. Previously, he was in the financial sponsors group at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette.

Wilson has a master's from the University of Cambridge, England, and a masters of business administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

"In these dynamic markets it is essential to be able to offer our clients a depth of product experience in addition to a full breadth of sector coverage," Connolly said in a press release. "The appointment of a career leveraged finance professional like William underscores our commitment to expanding our capabilities in this strategic product area."

UBS is a Zurich, Switzerland-based financial firm.
