UAL files automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., Dec. 1 - UAL Corp. and United Air Lines, Inc. jointly filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration for the parent covers common stock, debt securities, depositary shares, guarantees of debt securities, preferred stock, stock purchase contracts, stock purchase units, subscription rights and warrants. United's registration covers debt securities and guarantees of debt securities.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

UAL is the parent company of Chicago-based United Airlines.
