Tweeter gets court OK to change its name to TWTR

By Rebecca Melvin

New York, Feb. 5 - Tweeter Home Entertainment Corp. received court approval to change its name to TWTR Inc. in connection with the sale of substantially all of its assets, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

As previously reported, Tweeter received a 180-day non-exclusive royalty fee right and license to the Tweeter name when it agreed to sell its assets, and now it is changing its name to TWTR from Tweeter.

Under the sale agreement, the Tweeter name was to be used solely for the wind down of the company's business and liquidation.

Tweeter, a Canton, Mass., consumer electronics retailer, filed for bankruptcy on June 11, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-10787.
