Travelers files automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., Dec. 15 - Travelers Cos., Inc. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The registration covers senior debt securities, subordinated debt securities, junior subordinated debt securities, preferred stock, Depositary Shares, common stock, warrants, stock purchase contracts and units, along with guaranteed trust preferred securities to be offered by Travelers' subsidiaries.
The securities may be structured as convertibles.
Use of proceeds will be set forth in the applicable prospectus supplement.
Travelers is a St. Paul-based provider of property casualty insurance.
