Transport Industries granted three-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 18 - Transport Industries LP received an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of liquidation and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to May 22 from Feb. 17 and the solicitation period to July 24, 2009 from April 20.

According to the motion, Transport has just started discussions with its official committee of unsecured creditors regarding the structure and terms of a plan.

As a result, the company said it needs more time to develop a consensual plan.

Transport Industries, a Dallas-based third-party provider of transportation services, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 20. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-12430.
