Transocean files automatic shelf registration covering debt, stock

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 16 - Transocean Inc. and Transocean Ltd. jointly filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities to be offered by Transocean Inc. and shares and warrants, which will be offered by Transocean Ltd.

The debt may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Transocean is a Vernier, Switzerland-based oil and gas offshore drilling services company.
