Moody’s might drop TransAlta

Moody's Investors Service said it placed TransAlta Corp.’s ratings, including its senior unsecured Baa3 rating, under review for downgrade.

"TransAlta continues to generate weak financial metrics for an investment grade rating," Moody’s vice president and senior analyst Gavin MacFarlane said in a news release.

"Management has been implementing its strategy to delever TransAlta; however, it increasingly looks like too little too late."
