Torchmark files automatic shelf covering debt, preferreds and stock

Knoxville, Tenn., June 29 - Torchmark Corp. and its subsidiaries jointly filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers senior and subordinated debt securities, preferred stock, common stock, depositary shares, warrants, purchase contracts and units, along with preferred securities to be offered by subsidiaries and guaranteed by the parent.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

The company will describe in a prospectus supplement how it plans to use the proceeds.

Torchmark is an insurance holding company based in McKinney, Texas, that provides protection life insurance and supplemental health insurance.
