Tocqueville Gold Fund adds Douglas Groh as portfolio manager

San Diego, Dec. 16 - Tocqueville Trust announced that Douglas B. Groh will become a portfolio manager of the Tocqueville Gold Fund on Jan. 1, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Groh joins John Hathaway in managing the fund. Hathaway has managed the fund since its inception in 1997.

Groh joined the fund's investment adviser, New York-based Tocqueville Asset Management LP, in 2003 and serves as a research analyst and member of the gold investment team. Prior to that, he was director of investment research at Grove Capital from 2001 to 2003. He also held investment research and banking positions at J.P. Morgan, Merrill Lynch and ING Bank from 1990 to 2001. Groh began his career as a mining and precious metals analyst in 1985 at U.S. Global Investors.
