Highland Capital reports 12.9% stake in TLC Vision

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 14 - Investors led by Highland Capital Management, LP acquired 6,437,490 shares of TLC Vision Corp. common stock in open market transactions for about $31.58 million.

The transactions occurred between June 15 and Aug. 7, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

While the shares were acquired as an investment, certain reporting persons have in the past and may in the future engage in discussions with management, the board of directors and other stockholders of TLC concerning the "business, operations, board composition, management, strategy and future plans of the issuer," the filing stated.

The reporting persons own 6,437,490 shares, or 12.9%, of the St. Louis-based eye care services company.
