By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, April 2 - A123 Systems, Inc. received court approval to change its name to B456 Systems, Inc., according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

In addition, A123 Securities Corp.'s name was changed to B456 Securities Corp.

The changes were made in accordance with the company's asset sale order, the filing said.

As previously reported, Wanxiang America Corp. agreed to pay $256.6 million in cash for most of A123's assets and assume specified liabilities. Meanwhile, Navitas Systems LLC agreed to pay $2.25 million for the company's government-business assets.

The sale closed in January.

Based in Waltham, Mass., A123 designs, develops, manufactures and sells rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and battery systems. The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 16 under Chapter 11 case number 12-12859.
