THQ obtains court approval of $1.25 million COKeM claim settlement

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 30 - THQ Inc. obtained court approval of a $1.25 million settlement of a breach-of-contract claim against COKeM International, Ltd., according to a July 30 filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

COKeM bought video games from THQ during 2011 and 2012.

On May 28, THQ filed suit against COKeM in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California asserting claims for breach of the distribution agreements.

THQ said COKeM failed to pay for the video games and owed more than $1.8 million, court documents state.

Under the settlement, COKeM agreed to pay THQ $1.25 million, and the parties agreed to a mutual release of any and all claims against each other.

THQ, a developer and publisher of video games based in Agoura Hills, Calif., filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 19, 2012. Its Chapter 11 case number is 12-13398.
