S&P rates Thomson Reuters A-2

S&P said it affirmed the BBB+ corporate credit rating on Thomson Reuters Corp.

The outlook is stable.

The agency also said it assigned a A-2 short-term corporate credit rating to the company.

The ratings reflect the company's strong competitive position in global information services industry, its No. 1 or No. 2 market position serving financial services, legal, tax and accounting clients, high barriers to entry and the company's healthy cash flow generation, S&P said.

Challenging market conditions and pricing pressure within the financial services and legal end markets, anemic organic revenue growth prospects, currency headwinds and ongoing business transformation needs partially offset these strengths, the agency said.
