Thomas & Betts acquires Lamson & Sessions

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 5 - Thomas & Betts Corp. completed its $450 million acquisition of Lamson & Sessions Co. in a deal first announced in August.

Lamson & Sessions shareholders approved the $27-per-share merger on Oct. 25.

"The employees of Lamson & Session and its portfolio of strong brands will be a great addition to the Thomas & Betts family," chairman and chief executive officer Dominic J. Pileggi stated in a company news release.

"This acquisition is consistent with our commitment to invest in businesses that increase the depth and breadth of our product portfolio and enhance our leadership position with distributors and end users of electrical products."

Thomas & Betts is a Memphis manufacturer of electrical components used in construction, industrial and utility markets.

Lamson & Sessions, based in Cleveland, produces thermoplastic enclosures, fittings, wiring outlet boxes and conduits for the electrical, telecommunications, power and wastewater markets.
