Things Remembered sale to Enesco for $17.5 million finalized

By Wendy Van Sickle

Columbus, Ohio, March 8 – The acquisition of Things Remembered, Inc. to Enesco Properties, LLC has closed, according to a press release issued Friday.

As previously reported, Things Remembered received court approval to sell its business to Enesco for $17.5 million, according to an order filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Things Remembered said it did not receive any competing bids ahead of the Feb. 28 bid deadline.

“We are excited about what the future holds for our brand, team members and partners,” said Nelson Tejada, president and chief executive officer of Things Remembered, in Friday’s release. “This transaction with Enesco will allow us to enhance our product offerings and customer experience. We are confident that we now have the right operational and financial structure in place to drive sustainable growth in the months and years to come.”

Things Remembered previously said Enesco intends to operate its online, direct mail and business-to-business retail businesses, as well as a portfolio of current stores under the Things Remembered brand, preserving many jobs across Things Remembered stores, home office, fulfillment center and e-commerce operations.

Things Remembered is a Cleveland-based omnichannel retailer of personalized gifts and merchandise. It filed bankruptcy on Feb. 5 under Chapter 11 case number 19-10234.
