Fitch: Thanachart Bank BBB-

Fitch Ratings said it assigned Thanachart Bank PCL a long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating of BBB-, along with a short-term foreign-currency issuer default rating of F3.

The agency also said it affirmed the bank's long-term national rating at A+(tha) and short-term national rating at F1+(tha).

The agency also said it affirmed Thanachart Capital PCL's long-term national rating at A(tha), short-term national rating at F1(tha) and long-term national rating of its senior unsecured debentures at A(tha).

The ratings reflect the bank's standalone financial strength and its increased systematic importance after its acquisition of Siam City Bank PCL in mid-2010 improved its loan and deposit franchise, Fitch said.
