Moody’s revises Textron to positive

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed its ratings for Textron Inc. and Textron Financial Corp., including the Baa3 senior unsecured debt ratings and the P-3 short-term commercial paper rating.

The outlook was changed to positive from stable.

"The positive outlook broadly reflects our expectation of continued albeit gradual improvement in Textron's underlying credit profile in 2016, notwithstanding some ongoing headwinds in certain of the company's key end markets," Russell Solomon, Moody’s senior vice president and lead analyst for the company, said in a news release.

"With stability in core business conditions, sound investment strategies and balanced capital allocation policies, a rating upgrade is possible."
