Tesla Motors sells $30 million of its shares through private placement

Panasonic buys common stock at 1.22% discount to Nov. 1 closing price

Knoxville, Tenn., Nov. 4 - Tesla Motors Inc. completed a private placement of stock with Panasonic Corp. on Nov. 2, according to an 8-K filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company sold 1,418,573 common shares at $21.148 per share for $30 million. The price per share reflects a 1.22% discount to the Nov. 1 closing share price of $21.41.

Based in Palo Alto, Calif., Tesla designs, develops, manufactures and sells fully electric vehicles and electric vehicle powertrain components.
