Georgia Power, unit to redeem four note series via new issue proceeds

Chicago, Aug. 26 - Georgia Power Co. plans to redeem all of its $250 million principal amount of series X 5.7% senior notes due Jan. 15, 2045, $125 million principal amount of its series W 6% senior notes due Aug. 15, 2044, $100 million principal amount of its series T 5.75% senior public income notes due Jan. 15, 2044 and $35 million principal amount of Savannah Electric and Power Co.'s series G 5.75% senior notes due Dec. 1, 2044, according to a company press release.

The company will purchase the notes at par plus accrued interest to the redemption date of Sept. 27.

The Bank of New York Mellon is the trustee.

Funding for the redemption will come from the sale of the company's series 2010C senior notes, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Georgia Power is an electric company based in Atlanta and is a subsidiary of Southern Co.
