Newfield retires remaining 7 5/8% notes at a premium in second quarter

Chicago, July 22 - Newfield Exploration Co. said it redeemed the remaining $32 million of its $175 million principal amount of 7 5/8% senior notes due 2011 in the second quarter.

The company said it paid an early redemption premium of $2 million for the purchase of the notes.

Newfield investors tendered about $143 million, or 82%, of the notes on Feb. 18.

The company paid $1,066 per $1,000 principal amount of notes, including a consent fee of $10.00, plus accrued interest.

Houston's Newfield Exploration is an independent crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company.
