GlobalFoundries Singapore seeks consents to amend 6¼%, 6 3/8% notes

Chicago, March 15 - GlobalFoundries Singapore Pte. Ltd. said it began a consent solicitation for its 6¼% senior notes due 2013 and its 6 3/8% senior notes due 2015.

The company, formerly known as Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd., is seeking consents to amend the two series of notes.

The company must receive consents from holders of a majority of the notes by 5 p.m. ET on March 26, the consent deadline.

Holders who deliver their consents will receive a fee of $10 for each $1,000 principal amount of notes.

Both series of notes are listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd. The company plans to delist the notes "as soon as practicable," according to a company press release.

GlobalFoundries is a Singapore-based semiconductor foundry.
