Sonic Automotive to redeem some 8 5/8% notes with new note proceeds

Chicago, March 9 - Sonic Automotive, Inc. said it plans to redeem some of its 8 5/8% senior subordinated notes due 2013 using proceeds of a private offering of up to $210 million principal amount of senior subordinated notes.

The notes will be issued to qualified institutional buyers under Rule 144A.

Sonic is an automotive retailer based in Charlotte, N.C.
