Hong Kong's Bank of East Asia redeems balance of 5.625% notes

San Diego, Dec. 15 - Bank of East Asia, Ltd. said that it exercised its option to redeem the outstanding balance of its $550 million 5.625% subordinated notes due 2015 issued on Dec. 13, 2005. The redemption took place on Dec. 14.

Hong Kong-based Bank of East Asia is a retail and commercial bank for Hong Kong and mainland China.
