Carolinas Health Care System, N.C., calls four series of revenue bonds

By Jennifer Chiou

New York, Aug. 27 - The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority in North Carolina announced the defeasance and redemption of four series of bonds for the Carolinas Health Care System.

Affected securities include the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority variable-rate health care revenue bonds, series 1997A, 2007J, 2007K and 2007L bonds.

The authority said it will use the proceeds from its issue of $222,645,000 of its health care refunding revenue bonds, series 2009A, for the Sept. 3 redemption.

The authority has deposited with the trustee sufficient cash to pay the principal and interest on the bonds and, therefore, the bonds were defeased.

Questions may be directed to Mark Keener, treasurer (704 348-4980).

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority is based in Charlotte, N.C.
