Advanced Micro Devices buys $186 million 6% convertibles in quarter

New York, Nov. 4 - Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. repurchased a further $186 million of its 6% convertible senior notes due 2015 in the third quarter of 2009, according to a 10-Q filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company acquired the notes at a cost of $104 million.

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based maker of computer processor chips again said it may continue to purchase or otherwise retire its 6% convertibles, 5.75% convertible senior notes due 2012 or 7.75% senior notes due 2012 when it believes the market conditions are favorable.
