Medicis to buy back remaining 1.5% convertibles

Knoxville, Tenn., Aug. 11 - Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp. announced in a 10-Q filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it plans to redeem all $181,000 of its remaining 1.5% contingent convertible senior notes due 2033 during the second half of 2008.

The company was forced to repurchase the $283.7 million of its $283.9 million of outstanding convertibles on June 4 when the investors exercised their put option.

Deutsche Bank Trust Co. Americas is the trustee and paying agent.

Medicis is a pharmaceutical company based in Scottsdale, Ariz.
