JDS Uniphase buys back $75 million of its zero-coupon convertibles

Knoxville, Tenn., May 6 - JDS Uniphase Corp. repurchased $75 million of its zero-coupon senior convertible notes during April, according to a 10-Q filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes were bought back for $73.6 million in cash, which reduced the amount of outstanding notes to $83 million.

JDS Uniphase is based in San Jose, Calif., and makes optical networking equipment.
