United Microelectronics holders put $324.4 million 2016 convertibles

Madison, Wis., May 27 - United Microelectronics Corp. said that holders put $324.4 million of its zero-coupon currency-linked convertible bonds due 2016.

The put bonds were redeemed on May 24, and payment was made on Tuesday.

The original principal amount of the convertible bonds was $500 million.

Based in Taipei, Taiwan, United Microelectronics is a semiconductor foundry offering services for the manufacture of integrated circuits.
