Airgas calls $215 million 7.125% notes due 2018 at 103.563

By Susanna Moon

Chicago, Aug. 27 - Airgas, Inc. plans to redeem all $215 million of its outstanding 7.125% senior subordinated notes due October 2018, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company will redeem the remaining notes at a price of 103.563 on Oct. 2.

Funding for the redemption will come from the proceeds of commercial paper issuances.

The company said it will record a loss on the early extinguishment of debt of about $9 million related to the redemption premium and the write-off of unamortized debt issuance costs. The loss will be reflected in the fiscal third quarter ending Dec. 31.

Airgas is a maker of specialty and industrial gases based in Radnor, Pa.
