Telesat to redeem outstanding 8.2% series 2001 notes

Knoxville, Tenn., Oct. 31 - Telesat Canada announced it is redeeming all of its $125 million outstanding 8.2% series 2001 notes, which were scheduled to mature on Nov. 7, 2008.

The notes will be redeemed on Nov. 30 at the Canada Yield Price, along with unpaid interest to Nov. 30.

Ottawa-based Telesat is a satellite services provider.
