Fitch: United States Cellular view to negative

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed the BBB issuer default ratings and long-term debt ratings of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. and its subsidiary United States Cellular Corp.

The outlook is revised to negative from stable.

The affirmation reflects the company's solid financial profile, which has afforded the company some flexibility to withstand operating challenges, Fitch said.

The company has a good cash position, undrawn committed revolver lines, no material maturities in the next 20 years and a significant level of other assets that could be monetized, the agency said.

The outlook revision reflects longer-term concerns with the wireless operations, Fitch said.
