Telekom Malaysia’s Tulip Maple unit sets up $750 million sukuk program

Madison, Wis., March 3 – Telekom Malaysia Bhd. announced that wholly owned subsidiary Tulip Maple Bhd. received approval from the Securities Commission Malaysia to establish a $750 million multicurrency sukuk program.

The sukuk program will give Tulip Maple flexibility to manage its fundraising requirements and grant the company alternative access to debt funding, in addition to conventional bank borrowings, according to a Bursa Malaysia announcement.

Telekom Malaysia is a Kuala Lumpur-based telecommunications services company.
