New Issue: Telekom Malaysia issues RM 200 million of seven-year sukuk

Madison, Wis., Dec. 18 - Telekom Malaysia Bhd. said it made its first issuance of Islamic medium-term notes under its RM 3 billion Islamic MTN and commercial paper program.

The company issued RM 200 million of seven-year notes on Wednesday, according to a Bursa Malaysia announcement.

As announced in August, the Islamic MTN program has a tenor of 20 years, and the Islamic paper program has a tenor of seven years.

Proceeds from the sukuk issuance will be used for capital expenditure requirements.

RAM Rating Services Bhd. assigned the Islamic MTN program an AAA rating and the Islamic paper program a P1 rating, as previously reported.

CIMB Investment Bank Bhd. and Maybank Investment Bank Bhd. are the joint principal advisers, joint lead arrangers, joint bookrunners and joint lead managers for the sukuk programs.
