Fitch affirms Telekom Malaysia

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Telekom Malaysia Bhd's long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating at A- and its senior unsecured notes and debentures at A-.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings reflect the company's entrenched position in the Malaysian telecommunications sector, with a market share greater than 90% in traditional fixed services and 75% in broadband services, Fitch said.

While the agency said it expects the company to maintain its dominant position in broadband over the medium-term, competition is intensifying.
