Telefonica de Argentina to cancel balance of notes due 2011 on Aug. 1

Pittsburgh, July 19 - Telefonica de Argentina SA has cancelled $18.47 million of its notes due 2011 and plans to cancel the remaining $116.18 million of 2011 notes on Aug. 1, according to a company news release.

Telefonica de Argentina is a Buenos Aires telecommunications company.
