Fitch affirms Telecom Namibia

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Telecom Namibia Ltd.'s long-term local-currency issuer default rating at BBB- and national long-term rating at A(zaf).

The outlook is positive.

The ratings are supported by the strong strategic and operational ties with its sole shareholder, the Namibian government, Fitch said.

The agency said it expects a continuation of government support.

The company benefits from a monopoly position in fixed-line telephony, Fitch added.
