Fitch affirms Taiwan

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Taiwan's long-term foreign and local currency ratings at A+ and AA, respectively. The short-term rating is F1. The long-term outlook is stable.

Fitch said vibrant export growth and surging net equity inflows boosted Taiwan's net overall and net public external creditor positions to the strongest among the A-rated sovereigns this year.

Fitch said nearly unassailable external strengths are offset by a clear worsening in cross-strait relations.
