Superior Offshore looks to extend exclusive plan-filing period to Nov. 20

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 22 - Superior Offshore International, Inc. is seeking a 90-day extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Specifically, the company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to Nov. 20 from Aug. 22 and the solicitation period to Jan. 19 from Oct. 21.

The company said it has been focused on marketing and selling its assets, and now it needs more time to continue to wind down its business affairs.

A hearing is scheduled for Aug. 18.

Superior Offshore, a Houston-based provider of subsea construction and commercial diving services to the crude oil and natural gas exploration and production industries and gathering and transmission industries, filed for bankruptcy on April 24. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-32590.
