Suntech Power Holdings buys $150.4 million of its 0.25% convertibles for $129.9 million

Knoxville, Tenn., May 8 - Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. said it bought back $150.4 million principal amount of its 0.25% convertible senior notes due 2012 for $129.9 million in the first quarter.

As of May 8, Suntech had $255.8 million of the notes outstanding.

The company said may make additional repurchases of the notes, depending on prevailing market conditions, liquidity requirements and other factors.

Suntech is a Wuxi, China-based maker of solar cells.
