SunEdison closes agreement to sell projects to Onyx Renewable Partners

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Sept. 13 – SunEdison, Inc. closed a deal to sell a portfolio of commercial, industrial and small-scale utility solar projects in North America to Onyx Renewable Partners LP, according to an Onyx news release.

Onyx said the portfolio consists of assets in California, Arizona, Massachusetts and Vermont.

“We are excited to further advance our C&I footprint with this broad array of projects,” Onyx chief executive officer Matt Rosenblum said in the release.

“The companies expect this to be the first of several closings.”

The release did not give a purchase price.

Based in Maryland Heights, Mo., SunEdison operates renewable power plants. It filed for bankruptcy on April 21 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York under Chapter 11 case number 16-10992.
